Variety of bar stools to suit your purpose

When you are looking for bar stools for a low breakfast counter or table, you are actually looking for a chair height seat-24" bar stools.  The next question is what type do you prefer?  Even though they come in a variety of styles and colors, your job is to find stools that look good with the table or counter you already have.  If the table or counter is a laminate, you will want to look for a stool that looks compatible with that material, and, of course, the color.  You will also want to think about the general style of furniture that you are using in the rest of the house.  If there is a majority of upholstered furniture, consider upholstered stools.  You don't have to match the upholstery you already have, and it is a good idea to think about how cleanable the fabric is.  The latest in easy-care fabrics is the microfiber type.   It's, soft, almost looks like suede because it has a nap and it's easy to keep clean.  It has a very neat look on stools.  The alternative is using cushions, unless you decide to use a backless bar stool.  If you want a stool with a back, and want to use cushions, be sure the cover is removable for washing.  If you do decide on a backless bar stool, consider the pedestal swivel type.  It makes the sitting easier if the stool can move a bit.  If, on the other hand, you have a lot of wood furniture, you may want to consider using wood stools-even if the countertop is laminate, and especially if the table is wood.  You can usually find wood that matches well, particularly if the species is in common use, like oak or cherry.  If you are trying to match an unusual wood table, perhaps it's a better idea not to use wood stools and consider another construction altogether.  Did you know there are also bar stool adjustable for height?  Just as there are different counter and table heights, some companies respond to that by making their stools adjustable.  If you have an unusual table or counter height, look for this feature.  It will make your life easier if you don't have to worry about legs fitting under the counter or tabletop.  Although the 24" bar stools are suitable for most tables and low counters, you may still want to consider a bar stool adjustable for height if you have a custom-made table, or a counter was recently installed that had to meet a particular height requirement for a family member.  There are so many stools available; using this guide will help you find just the right one when you consider these factors.
