The chair was designed as a response to Florence Knoll, an architect and designer, who wanted him to create a chair that she could curl up in comfortably. The unique design lets you feel like the chair hugs you, giving you a sense of security and warmth. The vintage womb chair continues to be a mainstay of modern home decorating.

The chair is constructed from a single piece of fiberglass that is more to create the unique flowing design. It is then covered entirely with a thick foam.
