The Globe Ball chair was first in reduced in the 1960s.  It is just one of many designs from the Finnish designer, Eero Aarnio.  He created the chair, because he simply needed one for his home.  He has always been one that is known for his creative work.  He has been a pioneer in the use of fiberglass and plastics to create stunning pieces of furniture.  This chair and other pieces have even been highlighted several museums.  You can also catch some of his designs in some of the science fiction movies of the late 60s and early 70s.
  
 The modern ball chair is designed in such a way to keep sound from the dream it.  The round shape, almost looks like part of the ball has been cut away.  Inside the shell, which is made from fiberglass, it is lined with fabric.  There are also matching cushions in order to make it a comfortable place to hang out.  The shell is attached to a pedestal and you are able to rotate it in all kinds of directions so that you can see everything around you.  Some of the newer models even have the ability to have speakers installed to enjoy all of your favorite music.
