While most of the designed of this school share these features, each is different in significant ways. Even designs as similar as the ball chair and the bubble hanging chair, both creations by aarnio, are a different enough from each other to be distinct pieces of art. Both these examples of modern design may be called the aarnio chair; both are basically a form of a hollowed out and sliced off globe or ball. But whereas the ball chair is solid, and mounted on the floor on a pedestal, the bubble chair is gossamer like in its transparency, and hangs from your ceiling!
