Eero Aarnio’s ball chair was first induced in the 1960s.  The original chair was constructed to resemble a ball with the opening in order for you to sit in it.  The exterior the shell was made from a fiberglass material and the interior was covered with a fabric.  This fabric was available in several colors, and now today, you are able to select from a wide variety of colors.  There are wonderful cushions that would just make your time sitting in the chair much more enjoyable.  The designer has always wanted to create interesting and unique pieces.  He believes in a simplistic design that not only offers comfort but is fun.
  
 No one is really able to walk past a fiberglass ball chair without wanting to sit in it.  This is the concept that he wanted to achieve.  This type of chair is able to keep sound from entering.  This makes for a very peaceful setting to unwind from a long day or read your favorite magazine.  The one thing that the designer felt that he had missed is the fact that the chair did not allow a lot of light in.  This led him to design the clear ball chair.  It still has the same concept of design, except that it is transparent and it hangs from the ceiling creating a feeling like you were floating on air.
  
 A clear ball chair will now let in the light and keep sound out.  It is one of the most famous designs coming out of the modern furniture air.  It has been highlighted in many movies television shows and magazines.  There seems to be a renewed interest in this design and has been recently featured in several popular television shows.  It is the perfect place to take a few moments to relax and is certainly big enough to curl up in and take a nap.
